In 2019 and 2020 the Austrian brand has made calculated refinements to its motocross models to bring about a suppler feel from the suspension to better match with the stiffer chassis, and went one step further in modifying the WP components for 2021 in order to enhance the bike's handling. The FC 450 has an easy-to-control power delivery that can be tailored for different rider preferences and track conditions via the handlebar-mounted map switch, which also features traction control. The optional ventilated airbox cover that comes with the bike is another way to modify the engine's power characteristics. The 2021 Husqvarna felt like a whole new bike. One of the biggest complaints from the prior two years, the rigidity, seemed to have almost disappeared. Husqvarna made a conscious effort to build a bike for more of an intermediate or vet rider, and this was easily the best setting they have had in the past couple years. It seems like 95 percent of the harshness had gone, while at the same time they had retained performance in the suspension.
